Welcome to the Podfunnel PWR Podfunnel! This 10-episode series is going to introduce you to Podfunnels, and in particular, this post is going to go over some common business practices that are currently keeping you busy and broke. These practices all lend themselves to exactly why you need a Podfunnel to begin with. (Read the next blog in the series here)
My mission is to help entrepreneurs take time back without sacrificing their business’ growth. I want you to feel deeply fulfilled, and I know that you want that too! But something tells me that you’re currently feeling stressed out because of the need you feel to constantly create content, keeping up with social media, and a lack of business growth to boot.
But let me tell you this: you don’t have to sell your soul to the social media gods! Phew. Instead, you can use a platform that is proven to work, is more efficient, and that is very effective: podcasts. People are craving depth over the constant scroll-hole that other platforms provide them with. So, let’s impact people with long-form content that is binge-able and that really fosters a connection with your audience.
The first practice I want to talk about is the belief that you need to be on MORE social media platforms and constantly producing more and more content. I see this so often in my clients – they want to be on as many platforms as possible, and they feel like they have to repurpose their content everywhere. Listen, I’m all about repurposing content! But it needs to be intentional.
That’s because when we do too much, our message gets lost and our audience ends up confused. To prevent this, we need to focus on our core messaging – NOT the algorithm monster that we’re constantly trying to feed. You don’t want to lose the intentionality that will attract the right people to your business.
Because here’s the hard truth: when you don’t have that point of deeper connection, there’s really no point in creating the content in the first place. And I promise you – when you’re too focused on being everywhere and doing everything, every piece of content you create is surface level. That deep connection simply won’t be there.
Here’s something else that may blow your mind: there’s no correlation between the number of followers you have and the success you achieve. Instead of those numbers, it all comes down to being intentional and helping your audience make an informed buying decision and communicating your transformation effectively.
So, we need to think about who we are attracting and then have a path we’re taking them down once they’re here. This is how you build a business around your passion and that is centered upon your mission. Doesn’t that sound so much better than being on the relentless hamster wheel of content creation?
Say it with me – followers and popularity and trends don’t equate to income. If you’re creating content but it’s not selling at a high rate, you need to examine that. My question is this: could you be better spending your time as a CEO to expand your income? I’m going to venture a guess and say yes.
That brings us to the second bad business practice – which is getting sucked into trendy content instead of intentional content. This is another unsustainable business practice that keeps you in the hamster wheel of content creation.
What you’re doing, in this case, is focusing on marketing instead of serving your clients and, again, constantly working to feed the hungry algorithm monster. All of your energy goes into that and not into the transformation you’re providing your clients.
And here’s the thing – you can’t out-market a crappy program. Even if you’re going viral and following all the trends, it just won’t work. But when we’re keeping up with social media that way, it makes us think that we’re doing valuable work for our business. We’re getting likes, views, and engagement.
But even when that’s happening, if you have a program that can’t deliver, your offer won’t convert. You need to be able to provide the transformation you’re providing: plain and simple.
Stop focusing on trendy social media practices and start focusing on the gifts you have and the transformation you’re offering. You DON’T have to be constantly creating content – instead you should focus on intentional content. This will allow you to have a spot where people can go that will nurture, prime, and convert your audience.
From there, when you have something that works and you are ready to scale, having that intentional bank of content will help you continue to convert. This won’t take up as much time and energy as trendy content upkeep – I promise you that.
The third business practice that you need to quit is spending your time on sales calls with unqualified leads. Getting on the phone with someone who’s plain and simple not going to buy from you is doing nothing to help your business, but it happens all too often.
This occurrence burns people out and is a colossal waste of time. But having a podfunnel allows you to either keep your sales calls and scale back on them or get rid of them completely. Whatever route you choose, the important thing is that it provides you with a buffer between you and sales calls, allowing leads to self-qualify.
That means the people you do talk to are qualified and that they understand you, your value, and your methodology. You simply can’t make an under qualified person ready for your offer and value in a sales call. So, helping people self-qualify will do a lot to save you time, energy, and preserve your sanity.
The last bad business practice I want to discuss is the belief that you have to hire a sales team or sales closer to effectively scale your sales. You don’t! In the online space, we tend to make things more difficult than they need to be. The truth is, a more simplified process is usually better.
So do you need a sales call or team to scale? If you have an effective resource for people to plug into to sell your offer automatically, the answer is likely no. We’ve been able to sell $10k+ offers through a Podfunnel. No sales calls needed! And get this, only 1 out of 10 ppl would take the sales call rather than listen to the Podfunnel. That’s because a Podfunnel answers their questions, and after they listen, they’ll be ready to buy.
By tapping into this resource, you can simplify your businesses and processes and allow your ideal client to feel supported and taken care of without the sales call process. From there, you can take your investment towards a sales team and put it towards something that can intentionally do this effectively.
This will be a one-time cost that will save you money over time and is a more simplified path to the next level of business that you want to reach.
We created the Free CEO method, and it’s at the core of everything we do. The goal associated with it is for you to not have to create more and be more. We want you to simplify your business and sales process so that you have more time to enjoy your life.
The last thing we want to see is for you to become a burnt-out influencer. So imagine this method as a pyramid. The base of it is focus. That’s what it’s all about – focusing on who your are talking to, how you support them, getting clear on how you use your time and energy. It’s about untangling yourself from what others are doing and focusing on what really matters. When we try to scale without focus, we get lost and unclear in our message.
The next building block is calibrate. This is where you get intentional and calibrate what you’re doing with your focus. It’s about your content, positioning, and audience – everything needs to be calibrated to those things.
Next comes scale. At this point, your message is focused and intentional. You have purposeful content that is converting and that’s where the Podfunnel comes into play. We turn it into a resource that will scale your business because what you’re already doing on a smaller scale is working. The Podfunnel amplifies that with ease and fits seamlessly into the ecosystem of your business, using automation to simplify your life.
When you can focus on the people inside your offers you realize how your zone of genius can help them, that’s where innovation is born. Give yourself the space to innovate. That comes from focus, calibrating, and scaling.
Most ppl get stuck on the focus and calibrate phases, and that’s why we take a lot of time to go through those foundational steps for you. This goes beyond Podfunnel and your business – it’s also applicable to your life.
So say yes to going from a burnt-out influencer to a free CEO! I promise you won’t regret it.
